ومن هذا المنطلق لن يقتصر الأمر على ضرورة معرفة كل معلم وقائد مدرسة لمفاهيم ومبادئ المعايير المهنية الوطنية فحسب، بل سيتوجب عليه كذلك أن يكون على وعي تام بمستوى قدرته ونقاط القوة لديه، بالإضافة إلى التعرف على النواحي التي يحتاج فيها إلى تطوير. كما يمكن أن تكون هذه الأداة جزءاً رئيساً في الملف المهني الذي يؤهلهم للحصول على الرخصة الكاملة. والأداة مفتوحة لكل مستخدم يسعى لتنفيذ المعايير المهنية الوطنية، سواءً كان قائد مدرسة أو معلم في مدرسة مستقلة. ويتوجب على المستخدم إدخال الرمز السري عند استخدامه الأول للأداة، وذلك بهدف حماية النتائج وسجل التمعن الشخصي لكل مستخدم. ونشجع كل معلم وقائد مدرسة على استخدام هذه الأداة لما فيه مصلحته وما سيعود عليه من فائدة جمة. لا تزال الأداة باللغة العربية إلى الآن، إلا أن الجهود قائمة لترجمتها إلى اللغة العربية ولكن للحصول على النسخة الورقية المتوفرة باللغتين العربية و الانجليزية برجاء النقر على الرابط أسفل:

The Self Audit Tool is a web-based program designed to help teachers and school leaders to assess their skills, knowledge and dispositions related to the National Professional Standards. By means of answering a structured set of simple multiple questions related to educational practices and attitudes, teachers and school leaders can discover their areas of strengths and weaknesses. It is intended to help them understand which standards they have to work on for further improvement.The instrument includes also an in depth illustration of all standards, a glossary and a journal facility related to each standard. The reflection journal as well as the results of answers can be saved and printed. This is especially useful to track one's progress and achievements.
The licencing of school teachers and leaders is closely tied to the effective and sound implementation of the NPS. This makes is it a MUST for each teacher and school leader not only to understand the NPS as concepts and principles, but be fully aware of his or her own competency level, strengths and also areas in need of improvement. The tool helps teachers and school leaders to do that. It can be also considered as an integral component of their Portfolio for full and ongoing licencing. The tool is open for everyone asked to implement the National Professional Standards, whether it is a school leader or an Independent school teacher. Although the user has to enter a password, when using the instrument for the first time, this is merely to protect each ones results and reflective journal. Every school leader and teacher is very much encouraged to use it for his own benefit and interest. The tool is until now only in English.
